Things to do with your elderly loved one for entertainment

If you are caring for an elderly loved one, entertainment is important. Firstly, that’s because you don’t want them to be bored. Second, they need to get out of the house for fresh air and stimulation too. The good new is that Camberwell is part of the Boroondara Council. Why is that good news? because, Boroondara is a vibrant area with new events constantly taking place.

That’s one of the reasons we here at Gold Age Australia ensure that we keep abreast of what is happening in the local community. This enables us to offer our precious residents interesting outings. That is why we are happy to inform you of some of these events. Furthermore, if your elderly loved one is able there are things to do in the surrounding suburbs and CBD as well.

One for the crafts lovers

Starting today until April 23rd, the Australasian Quilt Convention is being held at the Royal Exhibition Building. As you probably already know, it is situated in the Carlton Gardens, Melbourne. Better still, this event is billed as Australia’s quilting event of the year. In fact, there’ll be Mexican and Australian flora and fauna quilts on display. Also, modern quilts direct from the USA and many more will feature too. In fact we think you will be amazed at the glorious colours and beautiful fabrics on display. Furthermore, you can attend day and evening lectures. Also social events. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. This event is not to be missed for its beauty and uniqueness. Well, they are offering their residents fun with pizza whilst you watch a 35mm projector and selected slides from the Boroondara collection and beyond. Furthermore, they invite you to bring some of your own family slides to share. Think of the fun you will have, not to mention the tears. Perhaps it would be wise to bring along a box or two of tissues as well.
