If you are caring for an elderly loved one who loves Rugby League, you may have an offering for them coming soon. The Rugby League World Cup 2017. Furthermore, the Opening Match features Australia v England. The venue will be the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium, Olympic Boulevard, Melbourne, Victoria.  The date is 27 Oct 2017.

Overview of the Rugby League 2017 World Cup

You and your elderly loved one can see Australia take on England to kick off the 2017 Rugby League World Cup. Furthermore, the best players and teams from around the globe will descend on Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Additionally, 14 teams will play 28 games over five weeks from 27 October – 2 December 2017. Moreover, they are all hoping to be crowned world cup winners! After all this is the pinnacle event in international Rugby League.

This will be the biggest sporting event in Australia during 2017. Furthermore, it will be seen by more communities and fans than any other World Cup. Also, the opening game will be a battle between traditional sporting rivals, Australia and England.

Rugby and Soccer at AAMI Park stadium

Both rugby codes plus the city’s two soccer teams ensure there’s always something to see at the impressive AAMI Park stadium. Melbourne Storm fly the flag for rugby league, and the Melbourne Rebels represent for rugby union. Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City vie for local supremacy in the A-League soccer competition.
