The following is a selection of classic car events in 2017. If you have been searching for interesting outings for your elderly loved one, this may fit the bill. Furthermore, if dad or pop is a car enthusiast, read on.

Here, at Gold Age Australia, we love to hear our elderly residents tell stories. Both men and women have memories that they have brought with them. Everyone is different and everyone is precious. That is why we are happy to pass on some interesting activity information  to you.

Pommie Dave’s Choice – A showcase of British classics

This event will take place on 9 July 2017. It is listed as the Gippsland Vehicle Collection. The address is 1A Sale Rd, Maffra VIC. The show begins at 9 AM and concludes at 2 PM. Tickets are $8 for entry to the motor museum. However entry to the grounds is by gold coin donation. Moreover children under 15 are allowed in free. A great bonus for families.

This exhibition will run from July to November. Exhibits will include a rare Morgan four-seater roadster, a Daimler SP250 and a Lotus Elan V8 sports car. Also, for  motorbike enthusiasts, a Vincent Rapide, a supercharged Vincent Black Shadow, a 1914 Rudge and a Reliant.

Furthermore, enthusiasts are welcome to bring along their vehicles. Additionally, they can display them as part of the day’s show. Food and drinks will be available. So why not make it a family day. The link:

Winton Festival of Speed

This event is scheduled to take place on 5-6 August 2017. The venue is the Winton Motor Raceway, Old Hume Highway, Benalla. Furthermore, the show is open from 9 AM to 4 PM. Additional features include retro touring car racing, celebrating classic eras of Australian motorsport.

Moreover, highlights of the festival include historic long track racing, classic car show and parade. Including historic touring car endurance race and Sports Car Tourist Trophy race. Also, Formula Ford 50th anniversary race, MG’s, Group C tribute cars, sports sedans and more. There will also be collector and automotive trade stands.

German Auto Show 2017

VWCV presents the second annual German Auto Show. It will be held on 27 August 2017 from 9 AM to 2 PM. Located at the Victorian Deaf Education Institute. The address: 597 St Kilda Road, Melbourne.

The organisers are inviting displays of all pre-1990 German vehicles. Notably, vehicle entry is from High Street at 9 AM. Also, cost per vehicle is $10. Moreover, spectators pay with a gold coin donation. Furthermore, all proceeds aid the DCA, a very worthy cause.

Additionally, the top 5 People’s Choice trophies will be awarded 1 PM. Furthermore, plenty of food and drinks will be available. So why not dust off your German automobile and have a great day with the whole family.

11th Cobram Swap Meet

The venue is Cobram Showgrounds, 16 Bank Street, Cobram. The date is 13 August, 2017 (7:00 AM – 2:00 PM). This show has something for everyone. Tickets are $5 each and under 17’s enter free!

The meet includes Shannon’s All Wheels Show. Furthermore, it is hosted by the Rotary Club of Cobram Inc. Additionally, the show includes 15 categories. It will feature parts, collectables, vehicles and market stalls. Outdoor sites cost $15, undercover sites are $20. And this includes two entry passes. Moreover, there will be People’s Choice and Voters awards.
